McLAREN without Alonso on 2008

Woking, 2nd November 2007: Following a meeting between Fernando Alonso and McLaren, it was agreed that it would be in the best interests of both parties to bring the relationship to an end.

The mutual parting of ways has not been discussed until now, since it was felt that any such discussion could have seriously disrupted the team’s and Fernando’s 2007 Formula 1 World Championship challenge. Both parties believe that this was the right decision.

“Since I was a boy I had always wanted to drive for McLaren, but sometimes in life
things do not work out. I continue to believe that McLaren is a great team. Yes, we have had our ups and downs during the season, which has made it extra-challenging for all of us, and it is not a secret that I never really felt at home. I know there have been suggestions of favouritism within the team and people say a lot of things in the heat of battle, but in the end I was always provided with an equal opportunity to win. Today’s decision allows all of us to focus on 2008, and I wish the team, Vodafone, Banco Santander, Mutua Madrileña and all the other team Partners who I have worked closely with during the year, the best for the future.”

RON DENNIS:
“Everybody at Vodafone McLaren Mercedes, especially McLaren’s Spanish Partners Banco Santander and Mutua Madrileña and the team’s title partner Vodafone, want to wish Fernando all the best for the future. He is a great driver but for some reason the combination of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes and Fernando has not really worked out, and in the end we reached a stage where none of us could find a way to move forward. We all believe that our joint decision to part company is for the best, and we will now continue to focus on our 2008 World Championship challenge.”

Vodafone McLaren Mercedes will announce any additions to its existing driver line-up in due course.

Finally setelah menjadi gosip selama berbulan2 akhirnya Alonso memutuskan keluar dari Mclaren & bebas memilih team F1 apapun di 2008. Wajar sih kalo aq lht sikon yg dialami Alonso musim ini dari mulai perasaan "dibedakan" & ketatnya perlawanan dari The Super Rookie Lewis Hamilton. Pada awal kepindahannya, ia mungkin berpikir akan menjadi driver no.1 dgn sedikit perlakuan istimewa apalagi status dia sbg 2 kali juara dunia tetapi kenyataan nya tidak demikian karena Mclaren selalu memberikan kesempatan yg sama & adil kepada 2 pembalapnya. Berbeda situasinya dengan Ferrari atau Renault misalnya dimana status pembalap jelas.

sedih sih padahal aq udah respek sama Alonso. Kedatangan dia di Mclaren sempat disamakan dgn Schumy di ferrari 1996. Prediksi ku sih dia bakal dpt Hattrick juara dunia musim ini baru musim depan Hamilton. Tapi yg seperti kita tahu ternyata Hamilton tampil luar biasa & beberapa kali kerap menyamai bahkan mengunggulinya di atas trek. Kondisinya tambah buruk setelah Hamilton mulai menjuarai beberapa seri balapan.
Alonso merasa tidak mendapatkan perlakuan yg adil padahal dia percaya kalo dialah satu2nya org yg berjasa atas performa mesin Mclaren MP4-22 yg kenceng musim ini (terlepas dari kasus skandal spionase) & hamilton lah yg mengambil keuntungan itu. Nah ini yg jadi perdebatan setiap org. Apakah Mesin Mclaren musim depan bakal tetap kencang atau malah jeblok sepeninggal Alonso musim depan? Suka atau gak suka emang diakui Alonso banyak memberikan masukan kepada para ahli teknik Mclaren untuk pengembangan MP4-22. Tapi ingat Hamilton juga mengerti soal settingan mobil yg pas untuk nya & bisa memberikan input yg bagus & jelas. Skrg tinggal kepada para ahli teknik Mclaren bagaimana tetap menyediakan mobil yg kencang, reliabel & membuktikan ke semua org kalo mclaren tidak menjiplak Ferrari !!
Setelah memastikan tidak di mclaren tahun depan, yg patut ditunggu adalah dimanakah Alonso bakal berlabuh.

Mungkin kembali ke renault atau juga BMW, Toyota, Honda, Red Bull. Ferrari tidak mungkin setelah Massa memperpanjang kontrak sampai 2009. Feeling ku sih Alonso bakal berlabuh ke team2 kecil selama setahun sebelum pindah ke ferrari 2009. Bakal hebat euy ferrari!! mungkin aja dia bakal duet dgn Kimi Raikkonen. Isu paling terakhir Alonso bakal barter posisi dgn Nico Rosberg di Williams-Toyota atau mungkin dengan Jenson Button di Honda. aq sih lebih memilih Rosberg soalnya sama2 muda & sudah berteman dgn Hamilton sejak di gokart. Di tunggu aja desember/januari 2008 dimana semua team sudah memastikan line-up pembalapnya.
